Today I look at Harbor Freight Gear That Doesn't SUCK!! - HaulMaster Roof Mounted Cargo Rack/Carrier/Basket. Not everything you get at Harbor Freight is cheap and this roof rack/carrier is pretty good. While not as big as other racks, it has plenty of room for the budget overlander. Just bought this HF rack with a 25% off Labor Day Sale. Looked for a video ... and here it was! Thank you. Now I do not even have to read the instructions. I'm going to peel the decal from the front and put some flower decals on it that I will cut with my Cricut. I always girlie up my cars. THANK YOU AGAIN!

Great Job!
Cut the bolts shy of the top of the mounting brackets then install the plugs to make it a flush fit. 👌

Once you get it tightened up sufficiently, take a Dremel or angle grinder with a cutoff wheel and cut the threads off flush to the top of each thumbscrew, or they'll poke into whatever your stowing in the basket.

When I put my kayak J cradles on I slip a towel under the brackets to prevent scratching the roof paint. Might be useful with this too.

I have the 2021 Explorer Timberline. I have no cargo whatsoever to haul. I DO however, like the rugged appearance a roof basket adds to any vehicle. I'm buying one today JUST for the aesthetic value. Great vid Sir!

I put the Harbor Freight cross bars on my 2019 mercedes GLS 450. I've used the cross bars and that same metal roof rack on my 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander.

I got this rack and kept the top brackets but then built my own bottom brackets from Home Depot for like 5$. It holds perfectly now

Any updates on how it sounds when riding? Interested in putting this on my GX460. Ideally I’d keep it on all the time, but I know any whistle/howl would drive the wife nuts. How effective is the fairing?

those are MPG eaters (all roof racks are). Hitch mounted racks are better
