Yes. No longer can you take a break from clash. If you do you will miss out on the new equipment which aids significantly in attacks. We are now forced to play consistently, or you will have to pay for the equipment.

The fact remains that maxing out epic equipments as a free player is impossible given that a new town hall comes every year now. The they keep adding more equipments every time. At this rate within two to three years, the gap would be much greater

It is but most creators are afraid of speaking because of Creator Code
If a new player joins now he/she will have to buy equipments for gems aswell which is around 9k gems

I think the p2w aspect isn't for obtaining the equipments but maxing them. Realistically, a F2P will have an absurdly hard time to do so.

I agree. Tbh i only hav bought like 4 goldpass and 2 scenery and nothing else and i was able to even max the apprentice builder. If u say thats impossible to get that much gems its not true. Everyone can gain 1000s of gems through completing achievements. The point is other than legendary skin and scenery everything is possible to achieve but you need to spend alot of time. But the only thing i would complain is its no longer feels like a strategy game. The game requires way less skills than before to 3 star bases which the 3 stars doesnt feel special at all and a miss is more rarer than triples which is the actual bad thing. We can no longer call this a strategy game

One important point to add is that even on a rushed account (strategic rushing, using gold pass too) you still can easily always have your equipment maxed. Just don't try to upgrade everything at the same time, focus on 1 set.
And if you still somehow struggle to get decent lvl equipment, you're just being way too inefficient. In my opinion this game isn't punishing enough, however it's understandable, because it's just a casual mobile game, not a big serious MMO

I don't think that, you pay if you want
P2W is basically when you can't be competitive because the f2p doesn't give you anything to be competitive at all, but I play CoC for 2yrs never paid a dollar, I'm TH11 full(becoming 12) and in Titan League II, so...
If you want to maximize every level in less than a week go ahead and put your card on it, but you won't be better than anyone with real experience

Now repeat the same test at the end across a wider range of bases and you will see a difference. It’s because you are skewing the results that you concluded that it’s not p2w.

The only thing that is imo, p2w are starry ores for epic equipments. No matter how much you grind, as of current its impossible to max them out or get close at the rate they are releasing them. Albeit not required to win casually, they make a major difference in more competetive elements of clash like LL, CWL and tournaments. The most jarring part about starry ores is that returning players will be at a major disadvantage and unable to catch up to someone who has been playing since equipments were released. In a sense, now if you are f2p and want to remain at least semi-competetive, you aren't able to take a break without a major cost on return.

As a free to play, you can get anything someone who pays to win has, it just takes longer. You can't get some aesthetic things like the scenery or some decorations but you can still progress your base over the decades.

There is no winning in COC. You can max all buildings and troops/Heroes. But still don’t 3 star every attack etc.
One pays to progress sooner or for cosmetics.
You don’t “win” just because you max everything.
Think bout it.
What do you “win” once maxed?

the problem is for players like me who want to keep up and have no problem spending a few bucks for a gold pass every other month but not apsolute whales.
you used to be able to keep up and be competetive once you reach max town hall level because let's be real all the attention is there and no one pays attention for lower TH levels. However, now you have to spend hundreds of dollars to keep up, I stopped purchacing the gold pass ever since hero equipments were intruduced since it's now pretty useless even though they made it even more expensive
event pass is pretty useless as well, it barely gets you 1 or at most 2 levels on hero equipments and it's only once every two months

it's funny how people like me (which are a lot by reading peopls comments) were actually spending more money back when the game was less p2w

+ now you HAVE TO keep playing, if you stop even for one or two months well then good luck
+ I used to have like 3-5 smurf accounts whcih I used to open and play occasionally and even bought gold pass for them once or twice, now I tottaly ditched them after the hero equipments update, A LOT of players are the same, since it's become almost impossible to keep them competetive for their own TH level
