Any landing you can walk a way from is a good one. Oh, wait a minute...

it was safe, just not safe enough. But too expensive for not safe enough.

To be honest I was expecting a successful landing, but the faint possibility of failure was just too much to risk from a PR standpoint.

Aye, Calypso, the places you've been to
The things that you've shown us, the stories you tell
Aye, Calypso, I sing to your spirit
The men [and women] who have served you and you left on the ISS...

The two stranded astronauts are saying, "Damn, I knew we should have got on that thing!"

Maybe Boeing should have designed a cargo version first using rapid iteration development. Then when they upgraded it to cary crew, they would already have a tried and true spaceship. They could’ve done it for less money and made money with it along the way before it was finished. 🚀

1. Why not a ram air/paraglider style "parachute" to fly to a more precise spot?

2. Where does the heat shield land? Is it on restricted land?

3. What is the descent speed of that landing and the G forces? That looks pretty brutal for somebody who just returned from microgravity.

well it seems like the capsule made it back in one piece but we'll never know the condition inside that capsule

It always amazing watching these space vehicle go through their motions and the many sequences. It's exhilarating.

It seems the two astronauts would have made it back safely but the issues that Starliner had exhibited were too risky to not take caution. After the Columbia disaster in the recent past, nobody want such a repeat. Columbia lost it's insulation foam on lift, a minor issue, as it was thought but led to the loss of tbe orbiter and all astronauts on board. It was really heart wrenching.

Anyway, space flight are always a risk.

What an amazing time we live in! Instead of lonely travelers stranded in space or riding the lightening, we have a platform and other ways to deliver our astronauts back to Earth.

NASA needs Elon's Starlink. The Starship videos halve way around the world were better.

Myself, I'll be pleased to see it land anywhere close to it's projected landing site 😢

I hope there isn’t any “irony” involved when the astronauts come back on the other craft.
