I realize now that I did suffer from audience fatigue myself. At some point I stopped watching YouTube gurus cause it felt all the same info over and over again. So I think there is also the "topic" fatigue, and sometimes we are just sick of hearing the same things over and over, even from different sources

I hit 200k subs and 220M views in a little over 3 months with shorts only. If you look at my top content, the niche is pretty much all over the place and just what I like to call "fitness adjacent" but all have the same format. Strong hook, build tension/mystery/conflict, overdeliver a satisfying ending. I agree with a lot of the general tips in this video even though he's talking about long form but with shorts, a very well structured video to keep swiper eyeballs glued to the video until the very end, by teasing it in the beginning and not delivering the conclusion until the end while being engaging and building that tension in the middle is the golden ticket. Best info - draw from other styles; Netflix, game shows, etc. Don't copy others. Find your own influences and develop your own style.
Also, the idea of finding a style that works, but switching it up to avoid audience fatigue is some of the best advice I've heard so far.

I'm going to start a vlog for my game I'm making here in a few days or so. So I got the one topic down. The nice thing about games, is I can switch focus, from story, to programming, to art creation, to audio design, etc... And it still all literally revolves around the end result of having a game, however long this takes. I have the problem here, of, having to split my time between a youtube channel and a game, and my emphasis better be on making the game first, and then focusing on the channel (even though my main goal is to promote my YouTube channel) -- It sounds like a lot of work (not afraid of work, but I'm going to have to do extra). And although I said I got the one topic thing down, it's really not a topic it's just a project. A topic would be game development or adventure game development where I'm not focusing on a project but instead making various videos on making types of games. "How to make your game more non-linear." "Puzzle design mistakes." etc... I guess I can keep this in mind though when I'm building my channel, to try to change it up now and again, while still sticking to my project.
