Could you please clarify why the logit scale is so important? I can compare the person-specific parameter across people in any other model, such as comparing means of a Gaussian model, right? I do understand that some appeal in placing both person-specific and item-specific parameters onto the same scale. But this should be true for any distribution which takes the form P[B, D] = f(B - D), regardless if it has a pretty logit expression or not.
