Submission Options from Side Control with the Gi | Jiu-Jitsu Submissions

Ever since my side control submissions video a little while back, I have had lots of requests to do another one using the gi. Of course, with the gi, you have even more options for attacking. Here are some very useful, gi-specific submission options.

Paper cutter is my absolute favorite submission. Baiting it with a Kimura grip and trapping the arm is just genius!! Thank you sir. Definitely a rewatch type of video

You always show really practical (high percentage) techniques and moves. In my bjj class our teacher all the time uses techniques with opponent's gi for samurai choke or your own gi to choke after you do a roll (idk the name :D sorry). I use these like in 1% of fights I think :D
First I though I will see these techniques in this video, but I always find a new techniques when I watch your videos! I have to try these new from you, they seem really more useful than techniques I learnt from my teacher unfortunately (I am a white belt btw) . Thank you! Great video!

I love using that grip when I can't get the kimura and go for the choke. Had never thought of that back take to modified bow n arrow. Definitely trying tomorrow!! Thanks brotha!

When someone is hugging my head I like to place my hip as much as I can in their armpit and step my leg over their head, from there use my leg the drag their head out of alignment with their spine. If there the frame on my hip is there, look to ude me hips to smash it first and if the frame is causing me trouble then instead of getting my hip in theor armpit I just go north south (as you did) and collect the trapped arm with me, with that arm trapped ser up arm triangle, back take, n/s choke, kimura/armbar, or use the kimura to go into a kneebar (which lead to many other subs). North south and outside leg lace are my favorite positions.
