Average person would have drowned right there almost guaranteed, lifeguards involved for sure. Koa was coughing water out of his lungs like it was just another day at pipe. Much respect. A buddy of mine was there on vacation and thought he try a little paddle out but realized almost immediately after getting in the water that he’d made a huge fucking mistake 😂 Full on panic in 5 feet of water trying to get back on the beach 🤣

Got hit by about 6 x 6 foot waves when I was a teen and I thought if there's one more I'm dead. I seriously had no oxygen left and I just flopped my way to shore. Nowadays I'd have drowned by about wave three.

To those big wave guys unless they are getting belted and almost drowning, they feel like they didn't go hard enough. But that guy grew up on the north shore so he knows what he's doing out there.
