She is a personal great friend of mine and I started as a nurse with her. What an inspiration and a gift of God to give back to your patients. I love you Stephanie!

We encounter adversity in order to mold our character, not to break us. Keep thriving! Peace to everyone reading🌹.

Thank you so much. I was just diagnosed last week and this video brought me to tears...tears of hope. My first attack was on my left eye and I am slowly re-gaining vision. I hope to strive in the face of adversity and make the best out of this.

Stephanie, I also have MS and have been living with it for 11 yrs. I have decided to not cope as much and truly thrive more! Thriving is what allows you to see the blessing in this disease. I pray that the Lord continues to show us what He wants us to do with this disease. The question is not why me, but truly why not me!! Thank you for your wisdom and heart for You have re-ignited the embers of my purpose!!!!❤

I so so so so hope there will be change in the future for MS patients. For my father it's too late, too much has been damaged but I really hope in the future no one has to go trough what he has gone trough. You seem like a really bright woman Stephanie, you are doing great things, keep it up!

I just watched this. I can relate, but to a different level.

I am an autistic OT. I found out my diagnosis during my time in OT school. When I found out my diagnosis, I had a series of questions about my future. It took me a year to find another autistic person in the field back in 2011. I found that person through navigating autism support group pages online… not through a referral from a professional colleague. That experience helped me made my own pledge- I want to be able to help someone like myself in similar position in OT. I want to be a ray of hope that everyone in that situation can see. So, after I talked to that autistic occupational therapist in summer 2011, I pledged that I would do the best I can to finish the student portion of my journey strong and be a licensed occupational therapist myself. Then, I will try to help whoever come my way, no matter how busy I already am. I know that if I can impact even one’s career trajectory in this instance, I know I have done really well.

Sure, my work in helping autistic OT students is more of a passion project nowadays. But, I like to help these students, particular knowing that some of them went through similar things like I did. Although I experienced some blunders along the way, my professional successes were important for my mentees to realize that they can succeed… just that they might have to encounter some bumps along the road sometimes.

Why do bad things happen to good people? It’s a question that I contemplate about but can’t answer. It’s demoralizing when an individual is faced with a chronic health condition. Stephanie chose to be productive, give back to others and use her talents to improve peoples health. She is an inspiration and has given many people hope to live life to the fullest

You will face adversity in life. You sum it up beautifully Stephanie. Deny/cope/thrive. They should teach this in middle school. Thank you for the wonderful talk. I so wish you well.
