Ugh I love how even though he was intrigued by the other pup, he kept taking quick glances back at you to make sure he didn’t miss anything❤️😭😭 just too friggan wholesome.

We have a legally blind young lady at our local grocery store. He has a seeing eye dog. He gets a whole isle next to her register to lay by her feet. We block it off so no one try’s to pet him.

Awww he’s so polite. He was listening to everything the other dog said but didn’t respond 😂

It’s like your dog told the other dog he was working. So cute!

I have a sdit and this is something we train for! Like today we went on a nature walk. Two dogs in a stroller barked at him. I put him in a sit, let them pass and rewarded him. Then there was 2 doodles that were lunging and barking, we passed them no problem as their owners held them to the side. And there was a big mixed breed dog that tried running up snarling, the owner kept apologizing and held the dog back as we walked by and overall, my boi did awesome! But yes, this is definitely something to train for.

That's how a service dog truly acts

I'm not a canine behaviorist but I believe that licking the jaw is a form of submission, and combined with staying low, was probably your dog making sure the other dog knew he wouldn't "fight for dominance" so to speak. A form of situational de-escalation and a preventative measure to make sure there wasn't a fight or situation that would inhibit his work.

I needed to see this… I have a SD and while he’s fully trained he does sometimes get wiggly or curious around other dogs or people. This usually just means butt wiggles, smiles, and sniffing but still under control and leaves things alone when I tell him. But I get worried that people think he’s a fake SD because he isn’t acting like a sad robot. I personally have a hard time because most of the SD content I see online from handlers is of their dogs behaving perfectly which makes it appear that they never do things like this: showing normal emotions. My dog is a goof, he gets excited to work and does wiggles when alerting and doing DPT but sometimes I worry that people think he’s fake even though he’s fully under control and focused on me, he’s just big and floppy and moves a little slow (he trots, not runs lol) so he looks like a dweeb. This video reminded me that service dogs are still dogs with emotions and as long as they are under control and recover quickly they are still valid service animals ❤ thanks :3

I wish people wouldn't just let their dogs go up to SDs. You shouldn't let any dog just go up to another dog without asking first to begin with. I spend a few hours at my job each week and this happens a lot, and people just let their little rats run into my booth and start beef with my dog.

Control your animals ♥

I like that you don’t just immediately expect that not a single dog walks behind there it’s always better to just be prepared and make sure you and your dog can stay calm and well mannered

They really should make a sign for you to alert other customers.

That’s so cute. Service dogs are amazing. We had service dogs sniff out cancer that was wild.

They’re very sweet together giving each other kisses, but your dog did a great job staying focused! ❤

I used to work at a hardware store, the blue house, and at the location I worked at once a month an a Thursday we would get a group of people training their dogs. They were all for military veterans, most were for PTSD and the others were for whatever that veteran needed. They would walk up and down aisles. They would stop and some of the in-store services like cutting wood, keys, wires whatever.
