Mean Girls - Conforming Amongst Social Groups

Janis stresses to Cady the importance of sitting with the right people in the cafeteria. She gives Cady a guide to all of the cliques at North Shore High School.

This clip can be used to teach about conformity. The students at each table in the cafeteria are associated with a mindset that defines them. Therefore, Cady will be defined by the group that she sits with. In order to become part of a given group, one must conform to its way of thinking.
