"It's a Man's Man's Man's World" is a song by James Brown and Betty Jean Newsome. Brown recorded it on February 16, 1966 in a New York City studio and released it as a single later that year. It reached No. 1 on the Billboard R&B chart and No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. Its title is a word play on the 1963 comedy film It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.
This is the exiting original long live version of this song as performed by James Brown and the JBs at the second performance at the North Sea Jazz Festival on 11 July 1981, held in the Congress center in The Hague, the Netherlands. It is also availbale on this channel in a short version.

This second concert is extraordinary and sees a James Brown that really gives everything to get the audience to their feet. The first concert that we published on 5 October 2017 which was recorded by AVRO Television earlier that 11th July 1981 saw a lame audience that did not know how to react. In this fantastic video we see what James Brown could do with any audience.
Also this concert has a different tracklisting including a sensational 'It's A Man's Man's Man's World' in which he pays tribute to great artists who died such as Elvis Presley, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and especially to John Lennon, who died some 6 months earlier.

James Brown came to this world just to co-write and perform It's a Man's Man's World. A true gift to the world of music.

I was lucky enough to see him in January or February 1981 when he played the Cave nightclub in Vancouver. He played two shows in one evening. My friend and I saw the first show and when they were clearing out the crowd we scampered to the restroom. We hid there for half an hour until we heard the crowd come in for the second show. The second show was much longer and a lot better. JB played a keyboard solo and put on a dancing exhibition that seemed to go on forever. I was eighteen and it ranks as the best show I've ever seen by a large margin.
