Thank you. 💋 you are so informative & full of passion. I am having a well driiled & bed rock was hit before 60 ft, they are probably now at 80ft. It was 25° F real feel, with winds whipping up in the east coming from the west.
Your explanation as to why casing is installed whilst drilling; to prevent cave in, answered my question & you were 1st site i opened & don't need to kerp researching. Lots of sandy, wet clay. Tomorrow will be colder with winds whipping day. Makes the sky look so crystal clear blue & the wind pushing through the millions of trees low & high sounds like waves crashing on a shoreline.
Well diggers get a lot of grit in their mouths. I watched them allll day as i find it so ABSOLUTLEY fascinating!!!😏 Currently have a gravity spring fed well & the cistern, about a quarter mile away, & all the underground tubing that feeds 2 separate households is eroding as cistern no longer fills as it once did. Could be a crack OR an underground line could have a crack by tree root. Piping traverses 3 properties & was installed over one hundred years ago. Once fed a third house, but the mountain forest has reclaimed the home.

For the outside casing what kind of rocks do you pour down

I am about to begin drilling and have been advised that I need to perform double casing. I would like to know if this is necessary or if I can get by with single casing.

Not only are they drilling deep in the ocean, the saltwater at depth can be below freezing. The oil can be boiling. Imagine those 2 extremes coming together ;-)
