I started working remotely about a year ago as an accountant (yes, what you read is correct and possible, Accountant). And I will say that working remotely as Digital nomad or remote worker is the best of my entire career so far after 10+ years working and sitting in the office from 9 to 5. Basically living as a digital nomad gives you flexibility to do what you can't do when you work as a regular employee in a permanent office in terms of time.

Why do people feel like they need a course to become a digital nomad? Do you need a course to get any other job? Just look for remote jobs that don’t require you to come into an office and you can work from literally anywhere.

I think its a good idea. Remote work, work from home, and digital nomad work will be good for some. Others not.

Cool recount, but it's like saying I was a small business owner for a day. You become a successful small biz owner after 3-5 years of energized, persistent, generous work. Then you enjoy the spoils of a half decade's worth of labor.

Those of us digital nomads who have been working for 7 years or more to build a sustainable small business - like myself - are just like folks who run thriving small businesses online or offline in our home town. We just do it in places like Bali or Fiji or Thailand. Of course, most folks are not jealous of small business owners living in their hometown but add Bali to the mix and the jealousy arises.

This video inspired me to become one 3 years ago and I was broke back then. Now, I'm living in Bali full time!

Traffic and commute is enough for me to consider this.

I wonder how static those costs are. I was looking at Kuala Lumpur. They want to bring Kuala Lumpur up to western standards. My guess is prices will rise in tandem with the improvement in quality of life.

They've been in Bali over a year. Do they need work permits and do they pay local income taxes? Just curious how that works.
