I cut cable tv, land line phone
Tried Mohu antenna with poor result( not sure why) for local tv
Next, kept high speed internet with Comcast ( only choice so far) returned all Comcast equipment and bought a Netgear router and Assis modem. Bought a Roku plug in for older Samsung tv. Subscribed to YouTube TV. My Xfinity internet is now $80/ month with my own equipment. Will recoup cost in 10 months.use. About $110/ month savings.

I give the win to Hulu because they have more to offer for the bang for the buck over YouTube TV

For someone like me with homes in two different states, YouTubeTV is definitely the better option. I never have problems signing in, and it seamlessly switches local channels without any input from me. Also, the user interface is closer to cable (and thus simpler) and I can easily organize channels to fit my viewing choices. The sports options are perfect as well. With a FrndlyTV add-on (for A&E Networks/MeTV) I have everything I had with cable, for far less.

Hi guys - enjoy your channel. I routinely test these services out and keep notes. Here's some feedback I can share: My Dad lives about 20 min away, and I've set him up on our family plan. He's able to have his own profile and we haven't had any issues the last 2-3 years with him using it. #2 - As a subscriber to the NBA league pass on YoutubeTV (but not the 4k package) occasionally I was able to view 4k NBA games. I'm on the base plan.

I picked up Hulu basic this last November on a Black Friday deal, and really enjoy that, so I can't really speak on the live, no real plans to go to the live plan.
A friend has YouTube TV live, your right on that service being good on sports, it's great in my opinion.
In the spring, I dropped the "live" service I had and picked up two on demand services, one I'll upgrade in the fall for college football

I have a question that you may not be able to answer, but maybe you could point me to a YT channel or antenna product you recommend. We live 40 miles from a city with all the OTA channels. I bought and installed an outdoor antenna with 60 mile range that picks up all stations well except that the CBS antenna often has a weak or dropping signal. I have the antenna pointed - with an app - directly to that CBS location. I'd be happy to spend money for a quality antenna because we feel the Hulu, Disney ESPN+ bundle (without live TV) plus Prime would be all we'd need, if we had slightly better OTA. I appreciate your help!

Here in NJ, the Hulu Live TV, Disney+, and ESPN+ bundle added on NJ state sales tax of $5.10, bringing the total to $82.09. Disney is very ingenuous by not disclosing that until you go to checkout.
I canceled it after one month.

I watch reg. Youtube, with a fee for no ads, a lot. Can I drop this when going to Youtube tv? Does Youtube tv get the stuff that Reg youtube gets: like Agt, and live band performances?

Thank you for this video it's very helpful. I think my biggest hesitation is the dumb "live tv" options DVR only keeps things in the cloud for now only 9 months and last I had checked with friends it was a year. I have things on my DVR probably from 3 years ago. Partly because you don't have blockbusters anymore for movies that aren't considered "current" by mainstream and since DVD/Blueray is starting to be phased out it's getting difficult. I hate feeling controlled by the industry. Oh well. We probably will "cut the cord" soon. Just need to vent a bit

I went with hulu because of more content. I think it's worth pointing out that although these are live tv services, they are anything BUT the ease of cable tv. The best user experience will always be actual cable tv but it's not the user BANK account experience we can tolerate, is why we ditched it for sure. I have been using a strategy over the last month or so- buying prime streaming video and building up my UHD streaming movie collection. It's amazing how many bargain bin deals you can grab on UHD movies from prime to stream. Once my collection of all my favorites are bought, I no longer am swayed to keep movie streaming apps because of the movies I love to see. Netflix and Max will eventually be dropped because I can just buy the UHD movie from prime and stream away. But hulu will always be needed here for the obvious reasons. In fact I think the most commonly juggled thing is how can I save money beyond the needed live tv services. If you're a prime member- buy your movies outright and let go of monthly subs just to see them come and go.

I mentioned trying Hulu again to my wife. Her first comment - they just had too many ads.
