HI, we cut the cord 3yrs ago. Our Bill was $229.00 for TV and Internet per month and 3 cable boxes here in central NC... NOW we pay for YTTV-$64.99/mo, ATT=$60.00/mo, and during hockey season I pay $5.00 p/m for ESPN+... yes the Roku stick cost me $20. per, we have 3. So in my case, I'm well ahead.

Only streaming we continually have is included in Amazon Prime. Other than that our streaming comes and goes. Like Sling only during holidays.

I’m spending around 99.00 per month with internet that is a decrease of around 85 dollars per month for my family.
Thank you for all the good content.

When I bought my Roku 4K 42 in tv 6 yrs ago I had cable to get local channels. I hooked the cable up to the TV and the picture was so bad bc the cable wasn't HD. That was an extra charge. Cut the cord then.

We were carrying 3 services, now we are cycling between services watch what we want, cancel and start up another until we catch up and repeat. So now it is 2 at any time.

Cable TV has local channels fees, Regional Sports Networks fees, Cable Box Rental Fees, Modem Rental Fees, etc. Streaming Services sometimes have taxes depending on state. Indiana currently does not have tax for streaming services.

Cord cutting is a lot cheaper for me because I don't subscribe to anything except Amazon Prime. There's so much free stuff to watch on my Roku that I haven't missed my cable since I pulled the plug. It's the best choice I've ever made hands down!

Some, like myself, include internet service prices with streaming prices. Some people can’t afford multiple streaming services.

I got my corded tv/internet price down to the same price as internet service AND streaming service prices combined. [(Hulu plus live tv, YouTube tv))] Plus, many people, like myself, live in areas considered ‘rural’ and a OTA antenna can’t get as many channels as folks who live in much larger cities.

That said, the discounted price I got is NOT permanent and will most likely go up 30-40% without notice, given my past experiences. I’m in the process of trying to find out if Roku will put out another/newer version of their Ultra, since I have Ethernet for internet @ $68.22/mnth, tax included. I don’t want to cut the cord, get a Roku Ultra just to have Roku put out a newer version soon afterwards.

I don't understand why pro-cable people say, "But you have to have Internet." You're going to have Internet anyway. I would have it with or without streaming, so it's a non-factor for me.

I hate the cable/satellite services. Their business practices are deceptive, in my opinion. The trickery with rental fees, broadcast fees, and "limited time offers" really make me resentful. Add in the constant rate hikes contracts and I am out.

No cord cutting does NOT cost more than cable tv in my situation. Prior to cutting the cord, my cable bill was $262 a month. My YouTube TV is $69 and Internet is $84 for a total of $153 resulting in a monthly savings of $109. I have more than I need to watch and then some on YouTube TV and I am not ever going back to cable.

To see if cord cutting will be cheaper than cable, a person needs to start by asking themselves, which internet/wifi plan they will go with, a cap plan or unlimited plan. With a cap plan, if you go over, you will have to pay for that overage. Will you be renting your wifi box or boxes or buying your own?

Now when it comes down to your streaming option, you have to decide which plan you want to go with. For example, Hulu's no adds and Live TV plan is $89.99 a month, but a person still will have a wifi bill too. Also if people would want HBO, etc. They would have to pay extra for does too.

Just as those $1.25 can add up, so can does streaming services.

I've streamed for 2 years and am saving in excess of $1, 100 per year.

I subscribe to 3 or 4 on demand services at a time. I rotate services, seen it referred to as "churn" services. Most of the time, I get a sale/promotional price. I rarely pay regular price. And, I endure commercial ads on the lower tier to save money. I also have antenna TV.

Nice video. Alot of people including me would have/need Internet regardless of cutting the cord. So for some of us it doesn't even count in the total? Long ago when we had cable, we still had a lot of the streaming services too.

Even if streaming costs exactly the same as cable, I have **no contracts** with streaming! When YouTube TV was $35 a month that was a no-brainer. You also have to factor in cable box rental per TV.
