Starting a new series on John Locke's Second Treatise of Government, I take the time to put Locke's classical liberalism into the context of two previous authors I've covered, Chris Hedges and Jacques Ellul. I also discuss the intellectual influences I bring to bear on this work. The major foundational ideas of Lockean liberalism are introduced and I talk a bit about the historical context in which this work was written.

Could you please mention about Thomas Paine as well, he was very influential in early American politics with books like Rights Of Man, Common Sense and Other Political Writings, like Dissertation On First Principles Of Government. Thx you.
