Welcome to Hong Kong! Our city is very safety, dun worry. Just after 4 years of Covids, many shops couldn’t affordable to the high rent in order to forcing close the shops. But still have many good restaurants and good places to go here. Hope you can enjoy your vacation in HK 😊

After all, Hong Kong was colonized by Britain for so many years. After the return of Hong Kong's sovereignty until the 2019 riots, Beijing was highly laissez-faire towards Hong Kong. It did not even deal with a bunch of untrue content in history textbooks that insulted China. It was not until after the 2019 riots that it more strongly demanded that the Hong Kong SAR government change. It is understandable that many things are quite different from those in mainland China!
I hope Hong Kong will get better and better in the future!

It's compulsory to learn English in Hong Kong, its been more than half century ago. So everyone borned after WWII knew some English vocabulary, but just some of us can hear or read or talk in English. Most of the people don't need English in daily life.

I'm an expat and have lived in China about the same years as you. I have been following your videos because of the cool stuff you speak about China, safety, cleanliness, advancements etc. But, I'm really disappointed with this video on Hong Kong, your lack of perspective and saying stuff like most things should be the same, or finding it weird that people speak English and that everything is super expensive and people are "poor", the reality is, you've been in China for too long, the world outside had a thing called inflation going, that prolly didn't reflect as much while you're living off 30 RMB food delivery in China. But it's really bad taste, you're comparing HK and saying stuff like your brain is broken. Maybe you need to read more and see more unfortunately. Of cos they use HKD, not RMB, you claim you understand the one country, two system, but you actually don't.

What you see is colonized people vs masters of their own universe.

in terms of safety, HK is one of the lowest crimes rate in the world! So, you don't need to worry too much on this😂

I've been to HK twice. Despite all the negative things I have been told, I found HK charming, good food, and I love it.

Compare to other countries, Hong Kong people is rich. Many of us have our own property which is the most expensive item in Hong Kong !😊

As a Chinese, I totally agree with what you said… My mom and I went to Hong Kong last August, and it was totally different from what I imagined—super hectic and kinda chaotic. We spent 1200 RMB on a hotel room so tiny you could barely move around, which could’ve gotten us a really nice star-rated hotel back on the mainland. Crossing the border from Hong Kong to Shenzhen felt like stepping into a whole different country—everything suddenly got way better. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll be going back to Hong Kong anytime soon.

I visited PRC and Hong Kong recently, and I agree with her feeling, thoughts & comparison. We left a bag on the curb side in Hong Kong while getting a taxi to the airport, I return immediately when we realized we were missing it at the airport to the spot where we left it. Well someone had taken it. I’m pretty confident it would have remained there untouched if it was left in the mainland China. Yah, the population grew up under the British occupation definitely have strayed away from the honorable Chinese moral/ tradition.

Hong Kong is too depress after 99 years of colonization. It's nice to visit for 2-3 days to enjoy the food and shopping but it is really not a favorable place to live.

I totally agree. The summer before last, our family of three went to Hong Kong. We actually spent nearly 10, 000 US dollars in just one week. Goodness, it's really not cheap!

I’ve been to Hong Kong once, and on my way to downtown, a man who seemed to be mentally unwell sat right next to me on the shuttle bus. He told me not to speak English and kept saying strange things to my family. It was an unsettling experience, and honestly, I don’t feel comfortable going back to Hong Kong again.
