Is it anti-science to reject climate change while believing in Noah’s flood?

Let's be honest.... the overlap between YECs and Flat Earthers is pretty significant.

People who don’t know science, the scientific method, the self-correcting mechanism in the scientific community should not be Making assertions and claiming “science”, Nor is googling some thing “research”.

Thanks, Dan, For encouraging people to pump the brakes.
Religious fervor Fueled by overvalued faith is tiresome. As it always has been.

Was interesting to me. I think it was Dr. Cargill who said if there was a flood what would you do with the boat after the flood would you burn the wood for heat? Would you make other structures? The idea that Noah would be left intact to me is just less than practical.

Reminds me of the "scientist" who said there was a 50-50 chance the super collider is Sweden would cause the planet's destruction.

He said it was 50-50 because "it either happens or it doesn't".

For being charged with being stewards of the Earth, they certainly are doing a piss poor job of it.

Even if the ark could be proved to have existed, that would do nothing to prove that the flood itself happened. Out of everything that happens in the story of Noah, the big boat is the least unbelievable part.

Sad part is, the science is always so much more interesting than the mythology.
Like, we can model what a global flood as proposed by YEC's would do. The ironic thing is that it would produce so much heat that it would render the whole planet into a blob of molten rock. Noah's flood quickly gives way to Noah's conflagration as the entire planet is rendered uninhabitable by any life for the rest of time.

I love your scholarly explanations of the bible and early religion. I am a Christian but believe too many modern Christians are afraid of the truth or are trying to use Christ as a weapon for their own goals. Thank you for the work you do. I wish more would listen to you. The truth is good for Christ.

My question: why the heck is anthropogenic climate change even being taken by some christians as a matter of religious belief? What in the bible impels them to deny it?

I can't think of any reason other than my own supposition that one of their dogmas, effectively, is that good christians must toe the republican (or other conservative political party) partisan line in every jot and tittle, but someone please tell me if there is an actual scriptural reason.

A masterful explanation in response to a Masterson question. Love the fashion choice!

Also it's a dumb argument to go "verified by 2 other religion's texts" and then listing two other Abrahamic religions that consider the Hebrew bible as authoritative.
Wow, who'd have thought?

*The wisest thing that should be on everyone's mind currently should be to invest in different streams of income that don't depend on the government. Especially with the current economic crisis around the world. This is still a good time to invest in gold, silver, and digital currencies (BTC, ETH...)*

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all Abrahamic traditions, so the fact that they share a few myths means very little.

A person who rejects science has probably learned it from a religious source, like their pastor or some other YEC wacko on the internet. This is almost guaranteed in my experience.

@Dan McClellan, now I have the theme song for Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers stuck in my head.

This is the power you wield with your fit checks. Be careful how you use it. 🎵

(At least it wasn't Duck Tales. That'd be in my head all weekend. Wait... Darn!)

The Christian in this video clearly believes what he says about Noah's ark, as opposed to many apologists who know better but lie. This raises a serious issue.
It is so easy to fact check information and to think critically and yet many theists simply refuse to do either. It's not that they are necessarily stupid or incapable, it is because the moment they learn something that confirms what they already believe, they accept it blindly and eagerly and actually choose the ignorance of faith over acquiring knowledge. And then they raise their children to be unthinking, unquestioning robots.
