"The man who moves mountains begins by carrying away small stones"- Confucious.

Any large difficult task (moving a mountain) is most easily accomplished by splitting it up into smaller easier tasks (carrying away small stones). Here the mountain is the whole long combo, with the small stones being the individual parts you can practise separately.

So, in short, Confucious would kick all of our asses at fighting games.

Really, learning combos(especially long ones)in fighting games feels awfully close to playing an instrument.

There have been tutorials on stuff like this before, but it's good to have a video reference. Thanks.

Good tips. I've been breaking up long combos into parts ever since they first started appearing.
My first step is writing it down on a piece of paper near the monitor so I can keep reading it over.
If putting the parts together results in failure, I ask on a game's Discord chat or YouTube combo video.
Sometimes a combo is so long & tough (and I try it for ages), I might shorten it a tiny bit so it doesn't drop.

I like how it was a very practical answer. I'm glad to see someone else have the same thoughts about it.

Honestly, this is why I focus more on wake-up offense than insane long combos lol

Although this game is kinda sensitive to use this word, but I try to stop seeing the moves as moves and start trying to understand them as functions, then the combos come naturally.

Thought I was the only one that loves this type of music. Next time try using Caro Emerald or Alice Francis :)

Hi everyone, is there a guide or video out there that explains the concept of optimization? Specifically for combos. I'm learning mvci and my team is Dante/jedah. When I try to combo with them I feel that im always leaving damage on the table. Is there anyway of knowing when a combo will drop after so many hits and if I fill my combo with heavies could I make the combo more damaging and longer. Its all very confusing to me.

I'd say this wouldn't work with NRS games and maybe Tekken?

NRS games have the gravity running out feature that makes run cancel and attack timings different depending on length of combos and Tekken has something analogous changing dash lengths and attack timings again depending on number of hits

Another thing you can do is not play Marvel Infinite. Play Tekken 7 instead.
