What Exactly Does SPF Mean on Sunscreen?

Everyone knows that sunscreen is important, and that a higher SPF offers more protection. But what does that number really mean, and exactly how high a number should you get and why?

On most sunscreens there is a star rating on it and thats how you know how effective it is against UVA. 4 or 5 star ratings are what you should be using if you want a good protection from UVA.

Is there a particular reason the same thing I learned a year ago in physics is on a tech channel lol?
