US: Migrants rush to cross Mexico-US border hours before asylum restrictions expire

Migrants continue to cross the US-Mexico border in El Paso, Texas, a day before a pandemic-era immigration policy, Title 42, is set to expire.

Title 42 has been used more than 2.8 million times since March 2020 by immigration authorities to expel migrants at the southern border without allowing them to request asylum, according to data from Customs and Border Protection.
