To continue taking applications for asylum when the Federal Government is unable to process the ones it already has, given the huge backlog, is an exercise in gross stupidity. Perhaps the US should change the law to limit the number of asylum requests that it can take in a given year. Once that limit is reached, no more could be taken until the next year.
