According to The New York Times, February 16, 1923, was “perhaps, the most extraordinary day in the whole history of Egyptian excavation.” Three months after Howard Carter first uncovered the door of King Tutankhamen’s tomb, the young King’s burial chamber was fully unsealed, unearthing golden treasures beyond the imagination.
