Great Helm is the knight helm I have always loved.

Houndskull isn’t a type of helmet, it’s a type of bascinet. Bascinet is the helmet type, the you have visored bascinetts with its own subtypes.

Bascinets (except for great bascinets) were usually part of the Great Helm as well.

Bascinets are all around fantastic so that’s the pick for me. Love a good kettle too

Years ago, I would've said great helm, but these days I'm fond of barbutes and bascinets. If given the choice between the two, however, I'd choose a bascinet, though I don't know which variation.

Fashion-wise, my favorite is the sallet helm. But if I had to pick something that I was going to wear all day all the time, I'd be a kettle helmet kind of guy.

Bassinet obviously if we’re talking about protection. Most of the fully closed helmets would work too, but I think the bassinet has the best of both worlds.

i have been fond of the brim of a kettle and its minimal interference alongside the crest of a bascinette so i prefer the kettles with a pointed crest instead of broad dome

Hounskull Is really good against arrows and slashing weapons and It Also has a good ventilation, but the armet has all of these properties without making you look like a duck.

The houndskull is a type of visor for the bascinet. Not a different helmet.
