People seem to hate friends to lovers but I love it haha! These are some great recs. I need to finish Eva Leigh’s series.

I love this trope! I am demiromantic, so for me this the obvious way to fall in love. You already have an emotional relationship with friends.

I never see anyone talk about The Others. I love those books. The slow burn is so good!

It always makes me happy to see someone love "Written in Red, " I love that series! Some of my favorite friends to lovers are "Vineyard at Painted Moon" by Susan Mallery, "Hideaway" by Nora Roberts, and the Bride Quartet series by Nora Roberts has 2 friends to lovers books.

Ahhh, F2Ls is my longest standing favourite romance trope and still remains in the top spot today. I find it far more satisfying than the opposite most of the time as I often find that enemies/rivals/hate thing unbelievable with only some exceptions like the recent Sweethand by NG Peltier. All the people that say there is no tension in F2Ls haven't read the right ones 😆or maybe I'm biased because that has been the story of the majority of my romantic life? TBH it's such catnip to me that I don't need it to be great to enjoy it!

I have to say, I'm really impressed that you broke it down into the various different types of scenarios that exist within the trope and so I'll have to think harder on that from now on. I do know that one of my personal favourite 'flavours' is when they grew up together from childhood and Queen Move is one that I love for that reason - including the incredibly cute scene where Ezra and Kimba got 'married' when they were six! Another one is the adult BFFs who have never looked at each other that way before who 'accidentally' (or for sex ed purposes!) kiss or hook up and then catch feelings from there...

Some of my favourites of the trope that first gave me butterflies were waaay back before the self publishing boom and were from indie presses like Elloras Cave and Samhain Publishing which no longer exist. A few more recent ones that I enjoyed are Unexpected Lovers by Rilzy Adams - there is also a short follow up which is about their wedding which is cute. Wanna Bet?/The Roommate Risk by Talia Hibbert which was one of the first of hers that I read and Wrong to Need You by Alisha Rai (book two in a trilogy that a lot of people don't seem to like but I love). There are tons more but I've already written far too much! TFS :)

Radiance is the book that made me realize that I love friends to lovers and the arranged marriage trope. It’s my comfort read now ☺️❤️

I WILL TAKE FRIENDS TO LOVERS OVER ENEMIES TO LOVERS ANY DAY.

And they were roommates. 😂. Love those.

I like the friends to lovers when the characters are fifty/sixty somethings, were married but now divorced or their spouses have died and they find themselves back together again.

I read Written in Red earlier this year and I enjoyed it but was really conflicted about the world building because it felt like a lot of uh, underlying racist concepts made it in. Definitely will check out some of these books!
