yeah Audio used to be better with the collar mic

It wasn't a specific pitcher's no hitter, it was a team of pitchers' no hitter. And it was a 2-run game, not a blow out. If both teams are not in it to win it, then it's not a good game.

Unwritten rules are not rules. If they were, they would be written.

It's a PRO league, you get paid to win. Fck it, that's life...

audio isn't as good... usually studio-quality, this sounds like the mic is across the room

If they didn't want them to reach on a bunt, they should've defended against the bunt

All depends on the score. 1 to 0 or 2 to 0 you're playing to win. Losing 10 to 0 yeah...that's lame

"You play to win the game" --Herm Edwards

The score is 2-0 in the 7th inning, so you need a base runner. The tying run comes to the plate. Bunting is a strategically wise decision.

If it wasn't a "bull-pen" game I would have a problem with it but... it was! Cleveland didn't have a starting pitcher, pitching the game of his life. It was a bunch of relievers having a good outing. The score was 2-0... bunt away!

Play to win! Audio has a weird room echo. Not terrible but not as goos as before.

I’m a Guardians fan, I was watching the game (like every game), I was hoping for a no-hitter, and I might have booed if I were there, but I think Freidl made a smart play. Nothing wrong with it.
Now, it’s notable that the Guardians had pitched 10 1/3 straight perfect innings against the Reds at that point. Their bullpen is one of the best ever.

Audio is poor… hollow w a touch of reverb

Most unwritten rules seem really silly to me, especially in pro ball. Whatever it takes to get on base, get a hit is the goal.

I would say it's okay as long as it's not done in a mean-spirited way against an individual who has a chance to do something special.

Regarding the audio, there is more room ambiance than usually expected but the sound is very good considering that.

Benches cleared in 2019 in a Trenton Thunder - Hartford Somethings game after someone bunted in the 9th trying to break up a combined no-no.

You get your feeling hurt by a guy doing his job so you throw something at him as hard as you can?
In a Baseball Game = Part of the game
In a Bar = Felony

If you don’t want me to bunt, then defend me so I can’t. If a catcher can’t tell the batter what’s coming, why would I let you know that I’m only attempting to reach base by swinging.
Audio sounds great!

I coached for years and for me it would depend on the situation. If the game is close everything is fair game. If I’m losing by a lot I would send my batters to the plate swinging for a hit. If I was in the other side I wouldn’t care what the score is, if the team bunted I wouldn’t say anything because it’s a perfectly legal and logical thing to do. I would not tell my pitcher to throw at anyone, bunting is part of the game.

A side note to something you said. You wouldn’t want to be on the next days highlight showing you were in the wrong end of a no hitter. There was all kinds of chatter about the Reds for bunting. Either way you make the highlight reel.

In a game that’s out of hand I would take my lumps and tip my hat to the opposing pitchers.

It's part of the get, strategically it is the right cal, whether we like it or not.

I recall Pete Rose talking about it. He said something like, "I'm a singles hitter but not supposed to try for a single, but the home run hitters are allowed to keep trying to hit home runs."
