Wow, that is almost exactly like the intro song Fire from Hiromi Uehara with Edmar Castaneda, nicely done, love

This is one of the coolest riffs I've ever heard!

So, is this 2/4 5/8 2/4 3/4 in 16th triplets? Trying to tab it out so I can practice it

Tabs....you said? Tha lt would be veey nice!
... well, achieving exactly that seems rather difficult mate, at keast to me. But the thecnique is really interesting, that sort of suppressed, percussive sound and, of course, the selective picking which, I have never really practiced...
Mmm I love the Phrigyan mode and its in my fingers! You know I found myself exploring its sound and possibilities a lot more after watching this... I know it's silly.
Likewise for selective picking...it needs loads of work but I can see it happening - dare I say! - and I can also 'see' loads more sounds with picking/hammeriny one or two strings and then adding accent with placking fingers...you all will probably say: of course mate!

I guess however brave and experimental one feels....it is quite difficult to break away from more orthodox ways of playing modes, runs and associating chords to it. I realise this more and more and I am not at all an orthodox person!!! But one needs to really get out of comfort zone on swim into uncertainty to develop some sort of individuality.
Thanks Giuseppe, Grazie mille I always appreciate your vids.

It seems like in the last part of the song you are using thumping, how does that work with the riff....it would've been cool to see it slowly
