RC Warn Winch Tutorial

Hi guys, here's a very handy tutorial i decided to make about how to connect your rc winch for your scaler or crawler. I installed it for my vaterra slickrock to be able to help on tough terrain.

Great post. I added the Warn winch to my TRX, but used the aux power source to power both my lights and the winch. I used existing plugs, but transferred wires to the plugs I needed to avoid numerous connections and ridiculously long wires. All worth noting I just used two of the supplied screws to attach the winch base to the stock bumper. With two it is very snug.

So the winch wil not work if u plug it straight in to the vehicles receiver even if u have a 16 channel transmitter .. u need the the other attachments to run it?

Can’t you shorten any of those wires? Also can you instead of battery adapter connecter, cut off the large battery end and just splice on the small end?? Thank you

You can also use a tx/rx lipo battery to power it as I pick up a genace 2s 7.4 2200mAh with jst and servo leads.

I have mine connected to a side connection to my transmitter and then to the box and the box to the winch my lights all come on when on but I go to use the remote and nothing

Do I have to remind them if I got it used from another person
Also do I have too change batter on the remote if so what battery type

Can I pull power from the receiver for this or do I need to run a second battery

You could also solder your own battery cable for it.

I am in need a minature winch like this that can pull in around 1ft of cable in around 2 seconds. Anything on the market like that? Must be able to pull anywhere from 15-25lbs
