every runner is unique in that arms and legs all have a slightly different ratio to height, which means each runner has to adjust their technique because of this. for example you may have a shorter runner with long legs, and a tall runner with shorter legs compared to the average.

are you saying that weak ankles can cause the heel to drop during the first few steps of acceleration ?

Okay this might be a weird addition here but hear me out: as a kid my older sister by five years and I would walk to our elementary school. The age gap meant she was taller (until I hit my growth spurt and we all became height equals except my oldest sister xD) and I realized I had a hard time keeping up because of the height difference. Taller=longer legs= longer stride=goes faster. So to lengthen my stride I literally just squatted a little bit and walked, so my knees almost never straightened out and my centre of balance was lower, but it managed to lengthen my walking stride and I was able to keep up with her. It was all about lowering my hips to an even level a bit below my regular centre of gravity (so like squatting a tiny bit) and keeping that height in forward motion (terrible explanation but I don't science this stuff so I tried to explain 8 year old me's logic on this)

I can’t prove it but I swear doing ballet makes you run WAY faster for this very reason

u tell us one guys foot strikes better than the other so he should accelerate faster. but the other clearly is in the race.. so no critique is relevent to this clip. i have always stated, some people are built to run. .. long legs / height/ weight/… bolt is ideal for. phleps for swimming.. i mean everyone else is relevent because they had to work harder.. /tyson gay/ asafa powell. to name a couple.. i think technology of the shoe and perhaps attire also contribute… i got nothing out of this clip… but you do produce others that are insightful
