Показать описание
How to live a happier, healthier, and more prosperous life? Plato's answer is by gaining wisdom which starts with knowing and accepting that we know nothing and becoming true truth seekers in life. In this video, you will find wise and deep Plato quotes that can help us to think for ourselves, observe the world as it is, become wiser by understanding our purpose in life, and as a result live happier and more meaningful lives.
Plato is a philosopher, mathematician, and one of the greatest thinkers of ancient Greece. He was born Aristocles in Athens, Greece, in 427 BC but changed his name to Plato as he grew older. He was a student of Socrates, the teacher of Aristotle, and published many great books and writings that have been studied by students for over 2,400 years
Plato's books were written for the purpose of education and learning about the world. His philosophy and theories inspired many different works of art including paintings, sculptures, music, and literature have layered the groundwork for much of Western philosophy.
Plato is best known for his theory of Forms and his most famous books, The Republic, and Symposium. In The Republic, he discusses justice, education, love, and other topics. In Symposium, he discusses love between men and women as well as eros between men.
In the Theory of Forms, Plato believed that there are ideal forms of all things and that these forms exist independently of concrete reality. He suggested that everything in the world is a copy of a perfect form and that those forms are real and exist outside of our own minds. Based on his teachings, these forms could be understood by our reason, but not by our senses.
Another Plato's famous theory is The Allegory of the Cave. In his Allegory of the Cave, he describes how people would be blinded by ignorance if they were to go into a cave and watch shadows on the wall. When they are released from their chains, they would not know what to make of their new surroundings.
Some of other Plato's famous books are: Apology (c. 385 BCE), Phaedo (c. 370 BCE), Phaedrus (c. 370 BCE), Cratylus (c. 360 BCE), Symposium (c. 385 - 380 BCE), Parmenides (c. 400 BCE), Parmenides (c. 400 BCE), (Republic) Book I-VII (c. 380 - 370 BCE)
Plato's work, writing, and theories are still studied today and have been expanded by thousands of philosophers and researchers. His theories have also influenced millions of people's lives, thinking processes, and education to this date.
Knowing his best words of wisdom, philosophy quotes, and deep sayings can greatly impact us and help us live happier and more meaningful lives by expanding our minds and vision into life.
In this video, I've compiled some of Plato's greatest and most famous quotes about life, love, education, politics, society, and justice that if we learn (and apply) can truly transform our lives and help us live happier by finding our purpose in life.
I put a lot of work, effort, and energy into making this video. I hope you find these quotes helpful and enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making this video. Thank you for watching
