🙌 Hello my dear friends!

✂️ French seam looks perfect on silk and other delicate fabrics and makes a perfect substitution for the overlock seam.

Here are 5 easy steps to make a French Seam:

1. Put two details wrong side to the wrong side and stitch the seam a little bit less (1 millimeter) than 1/2 of the entire seam allowances.

2. Iron these small allowances into one side (doesn't matter into which one).
Make sure that your iron is in steam position and temperature is a little higher than "silk" setting.

3. Fold both details along the seam and press again forming nice rib along the seam.

4 . Stitch the seam a little wider (about 1 millimeter wider) than 1/2 of the entire seam allowances. Made this way steps 1 and 4 you will ensure that fraying edges will not be coming through the second seam to the right side.

5. Iron the finished seams according to the sewing rules. In my case - to the center of the back detail.
