I love making french seams. I don’t have an overlocker, so I dont have to use a zigzag to finish the edges 😅

This is a beautiful presentation. I usually press my seam again after trimming, but I press it in one direction so I have a crisp edge when I turn it into the final quarter inch seam. It's such a great seam for a garment that looks as good inside as it does outside.

Nice job. I always use a piece of muslin as a pressing cloth because my iron is always on high steam.

You do such beautiful work and your tutorials are spectacular ⚘

VG - I use silk organza for a pressing cloth too. Some folks may like to press that first seam open before then pressing it closed. No need for pinning the seam then.

Love this type of seam. I had received a silk camisole with this type of seam. I used the "French" seam when sewing silks and silky fabrics.

I always use clips instead of pins on silk.. it'd be my luck one of my pins would tear a hole in the fabric. lol

I had literally never thought to do that before. Wow

What size do you stay stitch at? Thanks

do you get rid of the stay stitches after you finish the seam? I'm asking cuz it looks like you just sewed over the stay stitch which makes it harder to remove
