The 407 is a beast for what it is, I have one in both of my goldfish tanks. Crystal clear water, you can safely throttle down the flow rate, and maintenance is a breeze. Highly recommend if anyone is watching this and on the fence about one!

I prefer doing filter floss/fine pads in the 2nd and 3rd chamber and any bio rings/matrix/buffering material in the last chamber. This prevents sludge buildup on the bio media.

Sorry buddy but that is not correct The filter floss goes in the bottom before the bio media for Fluval canister filters.
