The Lost City in Egypt : Thonis Heracleion (Great Discovery)

Heracleion was once Egypt's biggest port and the last remaining town in Egypt and has been underwater since 2000 and is now a tourist destination in the region. The legend dates from the 12th centuries BC and the island shares many links with ancient Egypt.

As far back as the waning days of a Pharaoh, the city grew rapidly as it became weakened by a mixture of earthquakes, tsunami waves, and rising ocean levels, archaeologists claim today. Probably during a major flood in the 2nd centuries BC the monumental buildings at Heracleion collapsed in water.
