M is such a creative character. He's not just some other random baddie in the list, he *is* in a sense, Mario, or rather a corruption of what the original character was. Every internet creepypasta, animation, urban legend, copycat, and fan creation related to the Mario franchise exists inside of his domain, inside the world of Super Mario.

Honestly I don’t think people talk about the 1st few turns in Act 1 enough. The way the instrumental pairs with the incredible vocals make it feel like you really are getting ready to enter the biggest finale ever and it sets up the rest of the song so well.

Im listening to these on headphones and i realized after Omega disappears, you can hear LG equally in both ears, W4R is heard more to the left, and YOSH is heard more in the right. Amazing detail. Also in my top 5

Here's an interesting thought to chew on: I think that Ultra M genuinely intended for Act 3 to be the finale of All-Stars. He thought that by killing Girlfriend and turning her into his latest minion, Boyfriend would break entirely and submit to his inevitable death...but instead, Boyfriend just keeps on going. So Ultra M starts taunting BF through the lyrics in the latter half of Act 3, trying to goad him into letting it all end...and it doesn't work, forcing Ultra M to finish the job himself. I mean, if you listen to his pre-Act 4 speech, it's equal parts mocking BF's defiance...and irritably demanding to know why he won't just give the hell up already when it's increasingly obvious that he's doomed.

And then Boyfriend just gets ANGRY and keeps on rapping, even when Ultra M starts throwing the vocals of his "shells" into the mix to try and throw him off. The surprise backstab at the end of the song could be interpreted as Ultra M's patience finally reaching its limit, recognition that Boyfriend simply WON'T stop fighting...or perhaps even a hint of fear that Boyfriend could ACTUALLY manage to beat him if this keeps up.

I love how watching Boyfriend's determination and thirst for revenge, All Stars clearly could've lasted even longer, and maybe Boyfriend would've won either way, but Ultra M went "I'm not taking anymore chances" and fucking executed him on the spot 💀

I love how the whole thing ends with turmoil behind the voice, as he was the one to take the second to last life from bf with that last tongue attack at the end of last course. It really ties everything together!

Can I just say how Act 2 is so Underrated? Omega Vocals just sounds so good, and the Mario 64 DS Trio showing up in this finale of the mod is so perfect.

Turmoil being the last mimic fits so well, because his song is named “last course” and at the end of the song turmoil also sudden attacks you (even if you dodge it I think it still means BF lost one life)
Edit: I think the devs trolled turmoil so hard because I just realised when it’s turmoil’s mimic the lyrics went to “can’t you see”

I love the use of Omega and his posse to hammer home exactly what's been happening the entire mod.
They look different, have different bodies, they look completely new, but are all one, singular whole and can coordinate as such.
Some are like pack animals, some are like hive guards rallying around their royal. They are all him. They are all part of M's mind.

I also love that either through accidental mechanic interaction, or intentional placement, Turmoil ends up being the one to foreshadow the ending with that last lick he gets at the end of Last Course AND being the last one Ultra M uses the voice of.
