This makes me long to get a tortoise for a pet. I remember in grade 9 my science teacher had a bunch of reptiles, and it was my job to feed the tortoises. It was fun watching them eat, especially when I'd set the lettuce just outside their tank to get the top off, and they were already trying to eat through the glass. The things keeping me from getting one is I don't have the space or resources to make sure they have a proper set up that meets their needs. Tortoises are also a very long term commitment, they'll probably outlive me and there's no one I trust to will my pets to.
