TYPES OF COMPUTER :-

On the basis of the basis of internal structure, functionality or work:
1. Analog 2. Digital 3. Hybrid

On the basis of size, speed, cost, storage capacity or performance:
1. Super-computer 2. Main-fram-computer 3. Mini-computer 4. Micro-computer.

ANALOG COMPUTER :-
Analog computer are those types of computers which measures physical qusantities such as speed, velocity, pressure, voltage, weight, tempreture etc.
Analog computer use gear/wheels rather than digits(0,1).
Analog computer can not store data.

The result of analog computer is not that much accurate as the result of digital computer.
The speed of analog computer is faster then digital computers.
It works on continuous data.
Analog computer can not give more than 99% accuracy.

Examples :-
1.Speedometer, 2.Thermometer, 3.Analog clock, 4. Analog weight machine etc.

Digital Computer :-

Digital computer always process data (including text, sound, graphics, and video) into a digital value (in o’s and 1’s) data flow in the form of pulses.
Digital computer can perform arithmetic operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and also logical operation.
It can give accurate result as compare to analog computer.

It can store the data while analog computer can not store the data.
The speed of digital computer is slower than analog computer.
It process the digital data (0,1).
It works on discrete (discontinuous) data.
Most computer available today are dgital computers.

Examples :- Dgital watches, calculator, IBM PC, and electronic computers Etc.

Hybrid computer :-

Hybrid Computers combine the properties of both Digital Computers and Analog Computers for solving the problems e.g. Hybrid Computers have the speed of Analog Computers and accuracy of Digital Computers.
It accept continuously varying input and convert it into digital format(discrete value)
These Computers are used in some specialized applications where both kinds of data needs to be processed.

Today world is becoming hybrid.
It uses specialized device to convert digital to analog and vise versa which is known is modem.
Example:-
1) computer used in hospital to measure heartbeat of patient.
2) A petrol pump contain a processor that converts fuel flow measurements into quantity and price.
3) Hybride computer are used in medical labs, robotics, flight reddar system, National Defense, Hybrid Watches, etc.
