Beautiful in every way. I feel I need to fill my heart, my head, my life with love and joy. Such is the vast empty hollow left by my dear friend P. Missed every day and yet I feel just s little better for hearing this wonderful music.

This is a lovely rendition of GT Ball's "Elegy". Since it originated as an improvisation, the changes are quite in accord with the spirit of the piece.

Fabulous playing. Flugelhorn is a much underrated member of the brass section. Interesting to hear the subtle tonal differences when a trumpet player plays the Flugel, as compared to a cornet-player, or dare I say, a full-time Flugel-player

I actually like the melodic variations in this arrangement, otherwise it would become too repetitive. I play the original organ version, and the melody simply repeats itself several times over. I'd love to get a copy of this arrangement and adapt it for the flute if possible.

I hadn't expected to like this 'tinkering' with a much-loved piece, but I think it is gorgeous - well done, all concerned! I am surprised at (i) the large number of recordings of it on YouTube and (ii) how poor most of them actually are - too slow, over-registered, wrong notes!
