UN chief pushes for Ukraine corridors on Moscow visit • FRANCE 24 English

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called during a visit to Russia Tuesday for Moscow and Kyiv to work together to set up aid and evacuation corridors in war-torn Ukraine. "We urgently need humanitarian corridors that are truly safe and effective," he said after talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, also calling for an independent investigation into "possible war crimes" in Ukraine.

Does the UN realise how little Russia has respected its charter, rules of sovereignty, matters of law related to military operations and those for humanitarian aid thus far? Lavrov has been a liar at the service of his government - granted, he's just a diplomat. UN needs to collate violations related to all agreements as well. Russia is already a rogue player in international affairs.

The problem with these corridors is that Ukraine hasn’t used them in good faith in the past. They have used them for weapons smuggling so Russia stopped doing it. Ukraine is not the “innocent victim”, they have plenty of blood on their hands too.
