I now know that you can puke and have a great time almost simultaneously and not be diagnosed as bulimic. Check out how route choices and charts are done in the new age of sailing. Captain Cook would love this.

I have truly enjoyed your commentary on this novice sailing adventure. Having sailed for 45 years, everyday on the water teaches me something new. Hopefully, lots of folks are living vicariously through you. Stay safe, have fun and breathe in the adventure.

Those night watches where there's just enough wind, a nice calm sea state and a sky full of stars are the ones that make it all worth it.

Love seeing you at sea Doug, I hope its everything you hoped. Can't wait to see Seeker going.

When I was in the Navy. We left Norfolk to ride out hurricane Andrew for 3 days aboard USS Saipan LHA 2. A flat bottom marine carry all that rocked 45* both ways. You could almost kiss the deck while still standing. That was an absolute blast.😇👍

Alan sailing a C400. Stugeron is your friend for seasickness. Available over the counter in any UK country. Chemical name is cinnarizine, OTC dosage is 15mg. I have sailed for 30 years and got seasick once. One tablet under the tongue dissolves directly into the blood stream. I was upright in 30 mins. Great channel.

Wow Doug!! Great window into some proper sailing. Amazing the beating the equipment takes. Must be physically and mentally gruelling! Very impressed! 🙌💪

Strobe lights are great! I used to fly for the Air Force, sometimes we did search and rescue. We (Air Force, Coast Guard. Army and Navy) use Night Vision Goggles. At night time we pickup the strobes from many miles away! A mirror is great to have on your survival vest. They reflect the sun during the day and at night time they will reflect moonlight!

It's fascinating to see all the things on this smaller vessel that is so much easier and better thought-out on Seeker. I'm am still amazed and impressed by what a guy that didn't know how to sale was able to build.

Strobes are great on life jackets but if you haven't got one or want a simple backup add a glowstick and a length of paracord to the jacket somewhere. You crack the glowstick and then swing it round with the string. This creates a glowing 1-2m circle for the aircrew to look for. Only of use when the aircraft's close unless you've the stamina!

Doug, you've provided the best illustration and best description and tales of "life at sea" for a small sailing vessel; real world stuff, not just the "this is what we did at the beach" stuff. Good on ya man. Thanks for the great narration and documentation, looking forward to more.

LOL Good Night John Boy. LOL fantastic pull from the 1970 series The Waltons as everyone went to bed and turned off lights.

Great to see you out on the ocean with your mates. Always interesting, a laugh and something to learn from SV Seeker.

"On I get it" this is a guy who buys a boat that needs some repairs or maintenance, so you fix it while he teaches you how to sail... What a good deal! 👍

I saw how much y'all were struggling with putting in that reef. Here's an easier procedure to reef with the system that boat has: Luff the main. Loosen the mainsheet. Use the reefing line to haul the boom up to the clew. Then lower the sail, hook in the tack, then re-tension the halyard and sheet. This gets the boom up out of the way fast to limit the chances of getting whacked and also tends to just run a little smoother in my experience. Also, when figuring the length of anchor rode you need, don't forget to add the height from the water to the bow roller to your depth.
