The new atheists aren't as smart as they think

I disagree. If the designation of "atheist" invokes negative connotations in some people, that's their problem. We should own it. Of course, you can call yourself a neutral nonbeliever, a disbeliever (if you can justify it), or denier (if you can prove it). But it's all atheism.
