The space invaders Easter egg was further expanded on since recently Arma had a mini game on the main menu just like the original space invaders, and man was it tough lol

Nice! I came here looking for hidden stuff/easter eggs/sketches I might have missed as I am now playing through Contact.

Here's some from Mission 4 that I have found, which are not directly part of the alternate mission chains - of which I may have missed some either way:

- To the north of Poltava, there's a special LDF ops team at the road. I found them right at the end of mission 4. You don't get anything special from it that I know, and if they were guarding something I couldn't find it. I killed them using a sniper with Thermal sight; the fog here reduce visibility to 100m or less. It's also weird because there were 4 - like normal - but suddenly a 5th member hiding in the woods found and attacked me while I searched corpses. Squads NEVER come in 5's .... but I couldn't find anything more

- Between the mission research site and the radar station there's a dirt road. Along it there's a single guard on the road between the house and a truck. In the woods, maybe 50 m E/SE, can't remember - opposite of the house in relation to the road - there's a small shack. It seems like a tool shed. But on the bottom shelf inside there's something weird.... seems some random civilians hid it there or something?! Why would it be there... very weird indeed. I took samples of it with ED-1E later but nothing special happened.

- The myserious 85.9 signal. It becomes very obvious at the end of mission 4 what it is. Although it is never explained. But what is weird, is that it will show this signal originates from the mission research camp Dead Zone, until you've gotten Eddie. But there is NOTHING THERE. I cross-examined it from multiple angles. The signal goes away when you enter proximity of the Danger Zone. When you distance yourself enough it will return again. There's nothing physically/visually there at either times. The signal comes from an overturned tree next to a living tree, near the east road.

- The various CSAT mysteries. I guess I won't have anything to add to someone that has been following the clues but I'll mention it either way because I think it is cool. The distress beacon is from a CSAT helicopter. I have no idea what the signal object is for, I just started mission 5 and that probe is just "forgotten". What you do see though, are photos of what appears to be an officer of sorts. And far to the south, there's an empty villa, with nothing except a dead CSAT SpecOp inside. This left a dead trail for me. Just another one of that crappy marksman rifle that needs to be range calibrated every 25m. Could not access his inventory. How did he die? Who was he? Can't remember if/what any clue there was so it either led to something already done or it was just a 3rd instance of the same map drawing or nothing. On the way there you'll encounter the alien shooting stuff up, where LDF has lots of vehicles in reserve - but there will also be a dead CSAT operator of sorts. Looks like a crew member of maybe the helicopter. Judging by the helmet and the gun.

- At the end, you can place mines outside the shack before going in. One or two went off for me. The "hey! You!" guy can't be killed, I tried going around opposite of the open door and spray with the 7.62 SPAR. One time I failed mission because "friendly fire is not tolerated" came up when one mine went off lol. I have no idea what's going on outside. But the other 2 NATO guys arrived on the 2nd try, hit one mine by the sound of it and nothing happened. Never got to see if there was any dead CSAT outside.

- At the mission research site there's also an overturned wheelbarrow and a shovel some way west, still within the Danger Zone. Probing or sampling does nothing. Still cool though. There's one completely dug up alien vessel of sorts, at the extreme south of the main mission/radar site Danger Zone. There's a road not showing up on the maps that goes between 2 other dirt roads, that brings you directly to this vessel. There's a team of 4 biohazard soldiers guarding it, 2 in white by the cordoned off area and 2 with woodland camo in the woods north of them. Probing and sampling the alien vessel won't do anything. I discovered the site by spotting a vague plume of smoke through the hazy/foggy weather, so my curiosity got the better of me. There was a sketch or some notes I can't remember.

- The Looter camp at the extreme north of the main mission objective Danger Zone. I thought they had some kind of heavy machinery there, since it made an awful lot of noise. Turns out it's a car stereo LOL. I THINK it's supposed to be music, or rather, satire of a certain kind of music. Which I found funny. What was NOT so funny was that blowing up the truck did NOT stop the noise :p An anomaly? I found nothing of interest in the camp and I searched very thoroughly. Just more of the ammo/weapon boxes that are spammed across everywhere on the map.

- Climbing up the radio tower at the NATO "camp" gives a unique dialogue. There's nothing you can snipe from the top, though. Just tree tops and fog, but otherwise a nice view.

I'm sure there's more, both that I forgot and which I never got to see. I have one regret; not bringing the TW optics with me before the end of Mission 4. Not sure how vital that will be yet. Got a Laser Designator though so it'll probably be fine. The looters at the camp at start of mission 5 had also nicely rounded up 7.62 ammo for me for the SPAR so the 3 magazines I had on me was more than enough lol. Almost a bit gutted that you never get any reason to change weapons or scavenge much. But I'm not changing a 7.62 semi auto with silencer and virtually no bullet drop for a .12 gauge sawed off at night just LOL
