I actually used Wheatley in the companion cube level to use one less portal, as he would slowly roll out of the laser.

As somebody who has been a fan of the game for as long as I can remember, I never knew Wheatley was in chamber 3

He also showes up in the level that introduces hard light bridges. You can find him for a brief moment if you go behind the protruding panel that the bridge is facing.

Fun fact: The reason Wheatly doesn't transition over to the next level is because Portal 2's elevator code is scripted to simply change the map, instead of using the point_landmark node.
This causes the objects that the player is holding to disappear

And if you press Wheatley with the platform of test chamber 7 he will glich out and fly at the speed of the light

Fun Fact: Being able to pick him up during his appearances in the chambers is completely unintentional, and is the result of valve forgetting to uncheck a flag in the entity that’s enabled by default which lets players pick him up.


Most evident when you drop him in the elevator room, he’s able to just fall right through the glass, as valve didn’t account for the player being able to have him there.

It looks like he's supposed to peek out in the rattman's room in the chamber with the first light bridge appearance and introduction. It's not working now, but you can still at least hear him behind the panel.
