It is fastinating how humans came up with all the steps to actually get chocolate in the end. First you have to ferment them, then dry them, turn them into cocoa powder and cocoa butter, mix them with sugar, milk and other ingredients and then keep that mixture churned for who knows how long before you could get your bar of chocolate.

We have a cacao tree and when I was young, we used to eat that. Sweet, fruity taste then you spit the hard seed and then be sun dried for days/weeks. Once fully dried, we toast it until we can make that dark chocolate. Form it in a flat cylindrical shape we call "Tableya".

The flesh outside the cocoa beans is actually quite sweet and honey like. Had the chance to open a fresh pod and eat some right on a plantation in Hawaii. It was awesome.
