The "TL" sound is more of a CLICK you make with the side of your tongue. It's a single letter, rather than two.
The people who speak Aztec "Nahuatl" today mostly just say it as the typical T sound.
Spanish tends to trade the that L for an E, which is where they get "chocolate" from.
I would suggest looking Nahuatl up, it's very interesting hearing the native Mexican language is still spoken today!

Yes chocolate is mainly sugar but you can find others that are more more natural.
