If you want your own citizens to fork out $60, 000-$100, 000 for an American tesla just admit it. No reason to raise tariffs under the guise of overcapacity. How long were European, American Japanese and other car brands able to sell in the Chinese market with no issue? Gtfo.

It’s too late for the U.S. China’s EV industry is 2 generations ahead of Tesla. Once you drive the Chinese ev, you’ll never go back to Tesla again

Harmful overcapacity? Now we have realized the absurdity of 'overcapacity', we are changing the tone by qualfying it with classification of being harmful (and helpful). So, our overcapacity has been helpful and the Chinese's are harmful. I know cnbc is not saying it but really?

Nowadays ship Chinese EV from China to countries that doesn't have a local dealer using some special ways to bypass regulations has become a business, and the US is talking about overcapacity, as native Chinese in China I have to wait for months to get my new car, and US is still talking about overcapacity😂

The largest auto maker in Liuzhou is SGMW, who makes the most inexpensive car in China. SGMW is a joint venture between SAIC Motor (Shanghai Auto Industry Corporation), General Motors, and Guangxi Auto (a local company).

I want Chinese EVs in the U.S. now! They are affordable and good quality now, much better than GM/Chevy/Ford expensive EV garbage made by 60$/hr factory workers that want 4 day work weeks and full pay.

Whoever is doing exporting business will laugh at the word " over capacity " seriously, you can't export anything if you don't have "over capacity "! In general, value comes from the qulity and the affordability. Over capacity is just trash talk.

I can't afford an EV, so there's undercapacity.

in the semiconductor sectors, there is monopoly in pricing and in market control. dominate by tsmc, asml, nvidia, intel and samsung. boeing and airbus in commercial aviation, drug companies and oil companies as well . even in smart phone platform, android or ios. china is simply makes it affordable and in scale. while other industries without china's participation is driven by market control and manufacturing output, makes the consumer products getting more expensive every year.
