As the world transitions from traditional gasoline-based vehicles to more sustainable EVs, China is positioning itself as a powerhouse in this ever-evolving industry. We explore the comprehensive strategies the country has implemented, from boosting local manufacturing capabilities, promoting cutting-edge research and development, to fostering a robust domestic market.

We also discuss the significant role of government policy in shaping China's EV landscape, including the generous subsidies for EV manufacturers and buyers, and the creation of an extensive charging infrastructure. Moreover, we look at how China's dominance in the global lithium supply chain gives it a strategic advantage in the EV race.

Also, don't miss out on our special segment where we analyze the potential implications of China's EV rise for the rest of the world. What does it mean for global competition, and how might it impact you as a consumer?

The main differences between leaders of US and China:
US: Leaders are graduates of law, e.g Bill Clinton; China: Graduates of Civil Engineering, e.g. Jiang Zeming
US: With 4-8 years governance, the country can't really have long term commitment of policy consistency and execution; China: Targets to reach for 20-40 years with consistency
US: One party rule the country, the other party do whatever to bring the other party down; China: No, we don't waste time and money on election. The people in charge are selected based on merit, experience and the KPI. The only enemies are ourselves.

Wrap it up, the US tried so hard to blame Chinese government with tons of untrue accusation because they knew governance of China is 10 times more efficient than their counterpart in the US. In 10-20 years, US will be left behind if they do not take any 'action' now.

China's EV strategy is long term and well planned. ICE cars are complicated to make and China finds it very hard to challenge established brands like Toyota and Mercedes. So EVs offer China a new route to compete in the automotive industry.

As an expat who lives in China, specifically in Shanghai and is currently working in the field of electric vehicles....I couldn't agree more with the video.

This is the most unbiased report I have ever seen....thank you for doing your research.

I came to Shanghai recently from Canada, and I was shocked by the number of EVs running on the road. I also hear that if one wants to provide service like Uber they have to use an EV. Also, when i use car hailing services, i notice many local brands of EV that were unheard of. I think its one of those really strategically smart moves to boost the industry.

Quality video! Facts are well organized, detailed unbiased, and legit (I live in China and know the local auto landscape pretty well). The icing on the cake is the nice narration.

While following the news on the battery technology, one is baffles by the speed China has been able to put into practical use whatever technology they seem to pursue while others are still making reports after reports on what they are experimenting with. Yes, often they fail but based on the recent space station and quality of booster rockets it seems they are taking the lead in the most practical manner in application. Likewise, it seems they have taken over the portable battery technology in application. Their hunger for the future indeed is frightening!

I feel like in talking about the technological advancement in China a very important piece that often gets left out is IP.
The Chinese do not treat IP like the west, because they allow for anyone from the bottom to use IP you have a very chaotic technological swamp which people then mistakenly refer to as "Chinese quality" but that swamp enables the evolution of a lot of great tech start ups.

Thanks for uploading this video. Lots of research and very informative. China’s EV development is well thought and long term, hiring famous engineers and designers not only benefit their global sales, but also delivers better cars with great value for money. Jealously for the country who mainly provokes wars😅😅😅

It's time to play catchup for the United States and Japan and Europe. In the end, it will all come down to battery technology and how expensive the raw materials are. If they find a material with high energy density that is abundant worldwide, it would be much better for the entire world.

whilst the USA is investing its money in military, China is investing long term in its technology and future industry. It is a story of underdog, how a country is rising from the ashes with leadership's brilliant foresights, planning and execution. The rise of China will no doubt be a great achievement in modern human history

I chatted with my friend in the evening time today who lived in China and decided to buy a new EV. He told me almost every brand's car prices are dropping, not even the gasoline cars. But I view the Toyota dealer in the daytime, which only has ten new cars in the parking lots and has a markup price if you want to buy.

China committed to be carbon neutral by 2060 and EV is a key strategy. Don’t think market domination is a primary objective, respect and preserve the earth is a more important mission.

BTW, BYD Seagull offers Sodium ION battery now, which is cheaper to reduce; sodium is much easier to acquire than lithium also more environmentally friendly during manufacturing.

I bought my Tesla in 2017, received a healthy tax refund from federal and a rebate from California state, total close to $8000 dollars. In addition, I can drive my car on carpool lane by myself. So government subsidy in US has been in place for many years, the new law actually limits the federal credit amount based on where battery is made.
