THANK YOU! YOUR METHOD WORKED! 2 corrupted folders or folders containing corrupted files were on my new external HD. I used your method: command prompt, then enter chkdsk /F E: A bunch of corrections came up, and I recovered my lost videofiles! Thank you! I had just come from some British Youtuber's video but none of his suggestions worked.

the disk may be locked by another process.
You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode
and make sure the disk is unlocked.

the disk may be locked by another process.
You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode
and make sure the disk is unlocked.) and when i tired one more time it shows this (Invalid parameter - /) i run CMD as administrator, ,, any solution please?
