Park Fire becomes fifth-largest wildfire in California history

The Park Fire burning in Butte and Tehama counties has now become the fifth-largest wildfire in California's recorded history. That's according to the latest updates from Cal Fire, the state's wildfire management agency, which show the Park Fire has burned at least 383,619 acres as of Tuesday evening. Historical data from Cal Fire state that new acreage surpasses the 2020 Creek Fire that burned 379,895 acres in Fresno and Madera counties. The fourth-largest wildfire is the 2020 SCU Lightning Complex, which burned 396,625 acres.
