Matt, this might be the best vehicle you’ve bought this year. Remove the rear seat completely, add an arm rest and you’ve got the perfect daily driver for your property business…and really for your dealer as well! There is nothing not to like!

Well thank you Matt I had no idea this vehicle existed….well you learn something every day. Boy I’ve found some stuff out on this channel. It’s a pleasure being part of the community.

Most jeeps here in Ireland are converted to commercial. When I first moved here there was Toyata corrola Van's and even Citroen xsara Van's. All done to get around the Tax. Lots of VW Golf Van's here as well.

I like the comments regarding the clean air congestion zone it's all car business and things we should be thinking about today.

If I ever needed a Van, that would be my choice :). As for now, I not long ago got myself a 64' plate 4 (Post facelift) and love it. (6th LR Product) :)

I like the way you mix the format up, from the day to day stuff to the vids with higher production values. Keeps things interesting. I've got bored with plenty of car channels and moved on, but yours is consistently entertaining. Plus I'm a sucker for a Land Rover vid.

Mate's SDV6 Disco 4 died the other week - it was the problem where one of the crank oil channels gets rotated, causing oil starvation. Cue grinding noises and four hours on the M6 on the way to our camping trip in the Lakes. Which was a real bugger, because he was bringing the food.

As you said Matt, i love the facelifted Discovery 4, brilliant classic and yet modern Land Rover design, the interior is really nice and spacious and i love the fact its a van, yet i would go for the standard Discovery HSE because of the rear windows and better quality leather :D

Great video as always!

Have had a 14 plate last 6 yrs . Brilliant motor. On the Special vehicles you could specify any thing you wanted. Mine has arm rests Keyless entry and electric driver's seat plus all the rest of the gismos

In Ireland that’s 333 euros a year road tax instead of 1495 euros a year.. consequently there are lots of Range Rover and landcruiser vans in Ireland

Great video and voice of reason as always. Dont' get me started on ULEZ, Owned since newish a 2013 BMW 330D and now can't go to local tip just inside the north circular in London without paying, do max 6k miles a year as use public transport for work and ended up with a diesel as couldn't source a petrol at the time due to govt policy driving diesel use. Now I see complaints about road tax for elec vehicles, if can afford £30k+ for a new electric car then can afford to pay to use the roads, while a big old car might pay £600 when worth little and end up scrapped.

Great video as usual. One other disadvantage is the speed limit for LCVs. which is 10 mph less than a car. 50mph on a single carriageway and 60 mph on a dual carriageway .Motorway is however the same as a car at 70 mph.

The heated steering wheel is what sold me in getting my d4 hse for a fast luxury work 4x4 van. Looks very professional aswell

Theses where used quite a bit in the telecom world, I have seen a few 2015 plates still in use out on sites. Think the last engineer I came across he’s had 278, 000 miles on it

As a sole trader (plumber), I bought a standard Discovery 3, collapsed the rear seats & insured it for commercial use, rather than private/light goods. It worked & was totally legal. I did pay the full road tax of around £500 a year (at the time), but incurred no other additional costs.
You don't necessarily need to buy the commercial version. I currently drive a V6 Audi Q5 & again; I simply insure it for commercial use.

Love a disco 4. I had a 2016 landmark but some bugger nicked it off my drive. Replaced it with a disco 5 but always missed the 4.

I recently just picked up a Noir Blue 2015 Discovery 4 LCV with a rear seat conversion, my only real criticism is that the rear seats take 2 people (realistically) to fold down! Apart from that why JLR didn't make a HSE version baffles me. Apart from that they are fantastic, I'm lucky that mine is specified with the armrest, DRL LED headlights and Meridian, however, I haven't noticed that echo that you seem to hear in over 2500 miles. Also the rear doors have the window motors removed out of the back of them as there are no OEM seats installed, however they are easily retro fitted. Such a fantastic vehicle I hope you enjoy your ownership as much as I am! As with always regular maintenance especially regular oil changes are key. Enjoy!

Didn't know these existed! Make quite a bit of sense really and for businesses/sole traders its a good alternative to a pick up truck which I always think are most suited to the US somewhere like Texas!

Cracking vehicles, I had one for over four years, then had a new Defender 110, didn’t get on with it much so went back to a very late Discovery 4 Landmark! 👌😀
